Mrs. Beulah E. Bailes, 83, of Looneyville, Roane county, WV, went home to be with the Lord on May
24, 2002, after an extended illness.
She was born September 2, 1918, in Victor, a daughter of the late Emory and Kathryn
Fox Eagle.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and
great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, travel, her church, and
most of all her family and many friends in her church and community. She was a
member of the Epling Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, John Bailes of Sunberry, Ohio, and Robert Bailes of
Ringgold, GA; four daughters, Lois Maxine "Sis" Jett of Spencer, WV Jane Rupe of
Gallipolis, Ohio, and Ruth "Annabelle" Dougherty and Judy Westfall, both of
Looneyville; three sisters-in-law, Ann Halstead of Charleston, Susan Sheilor of
Cotton Hill, and Gladys Eagle of Jacksonville, FL; 22 grandchildren; 25
great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Bailes
in 1976; two sons, S. Dale and Harry Paul Bailes; two sons-in-law, Jerry Rupe and
Paul Westfall; one granddaughter, Jinnell Westfall; five brothers and four sisters.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2002, at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral
Home, Spencer with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the
Looney-Dougherty Cemetery on Flat Fork.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
