| Woodrow "Woody" C. Taylor, 79, of Spencer, West Virginia, died July 13, 2011, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital in Charleston after a brief illness.
He was born May 25, 1932, at Ryan, Roane County, a son of the late Alcie E. Rhodes.
He
was retired from Denbigh-Garrett Ford in Spencer. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army during the Korean War. Woody enjoyed delivering flowers,
meeting new people and old friends. He enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music,
outdoor activities and Sunday drives.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Violet L. Good Taylor; a son, Bernard
C. Taylor of Spencer; three sisters, Maxine Carpenter of Gandeeville, Edna
Nichols of Harmony, and Joanna Nichols of Newburgh Heights, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Taylor-Vandale
Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Robert E. Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Gandeeville Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
