Nineteen-year-old Chloe resident, Eric Ray Jones, has been arrested by the WV State Police on a daytime burglary charge, connected to his parent's residence on Upper Nicut Road Saturday.
A criminal complaint filed by Sgt. O. S. Starsick says Eric Jones had taken a .270 rifle from his parents residence after entering the locked dwelling.
The criminal complaint says the Jones' "had kicked-out the defendant from their home about one month prior for "stealing, drug use and for being out-of-control."
Brian and Tina Jones told police that when they returned home they discovered the front door pried open, with signs of disturbance and the gun missing.
Sgt. Starsick said Jones was discovered across the road with the .270 rifle in his possession. Jones claimed he was groundhog hunting.
He is being held in Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
A number of entering without breaking incidents have been reported in the greater Nicut area, with victims saying intruders riffled through medicine cabinets and drawers, stealing drugs.
