Several arrests are pending in Calhoun related to marijuana growing, following a two-day flyover of the county by the West Virginia State Police.
"Charges are forthcoming against individuals who have been identified," said Sgt. O. S. Starsick of the Grantsville Detachment.
Sgt. Starsick said the largest bust ended with the discovery of an indoor grow operation on lower Nicut, with about 100 plants confiscated.
"We also discovered a considerable about of dried marijuana," he said.
Officers obtained a search warrant for a residence that had plants growing nearby, and a dump truck was used to haul the operation away following confiscation, including plants, seeds and equipment.
The officer said the case will be considered by a federal prosecutor.
Starsick said the two-day fly-over spotted two other locations in the Rt. 16, Stinson, and Mud Fork Road area.
State Police will be making selective decisions regarding a return to the area with further flyovers, he said.
