West Fork Primary Care is operated by Minnie Hamilton Health Care
Center, but is a reality
through the efforts of the Minnora Community Center and grants from
the Sisters of St. Joseph
and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
The surrounding community has warmly welcomed the clinic, which opened
this summer.
Mark Hewitt, PA-C, who is one of the medical providers at West Fork
Primary Care says, "The
warm reception has simply reinforced the staff's willingness to go the
extra mile. We try to meet
the needs, and we're willing to make changes if we see needs that
aren't being met."
"We do physical exams, we treat illnesses and injuries, we help people
manage chronic
illnesses like diabetes and hypertension, we give injections and
immunizations - these are just a
variety of ways we can serve people," says Hewitt.
"This area has traditionally been under-served and locating our clinic
here was a way of saying
that the area and people in it deserve quality treatment in a quality
facility."
In addition to Hewitt, West Fork is staffed by Dr. Therese Stokan and
Brenda Yoak, LPN.
Dr. Stoken's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree is from Ohio
University. She is Board
Certified in Family Practice. In addition to all the other services
she can provides a family
practice physician, she can treat musculoskeletal problems with
osteopathic manipulative
therapy.
Mrs. Yoak states, "The goal of this Clinic is to provide quality
medical care to the community
regardless of the ability to pay."
Also on staff is Sheila Gross, Medical Assistant.
