THIEVES STRIKE HOMES IN ROANE AND OTHER REGIONAL COUNTIES

(07/06/2011)
State Police and sheriff's departments in three West Virginia counties are investigating a large number of break-ins and thefts to houses over the weekend.

Police say the break-ins happened at homes in Roane, Jackson and Putnam counties.

Most involve residences of people who were not home over the weekend, items taken include tools, generators and some electronics.

State Police say the thefts apparently involved items which could be removed quickly from the residences, and investigators are checking local pawn shops to find the stolen goods.
