An Elkins woman was a 4th of July auto fatality on I-79 in Braxton County.
25-year-old Kristin Short was rushed to Braxton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The accident happened Monday evening near mile marker 62.
Police say Short's car was headed south when she lost control, crossed the median, went into the northbound lane and was hit by a tractor trailer.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
