A lightening strike hit Calhoun Control at Mt. Zion just before midnight Sunday, causing problems with the 911 center's generator, computer CAD system, and a TV camera monitor.
Repairs got underway early Monday morning and most of the equipment is expected to be repaired by the end of the day.
911 dispatchers said compared to earlier direct hit strikes, this one was minor.
The center has installed the latest state-of-the-art protection system, which likely minimized the damage.
During the last decade or so, the center had been put out of operation by electric strikes. |
