VAGRANT MAN SUBJECT OF 911 CALLS - Wrecks, Prowlers And Domestic Disputes

A Calhoun man who lost his home to fire and has periodically been homeless, returned to Grantsville yesterday.

He was the subject of multiple calls to 911, after he reportedly tried to enter the abandoned Rainbow Hotel and a building known as the old Johnson's Tire Shop.

The Grantsville Police Department responded to the initial calls earlier in the day, and the WV State Police responded to a call about 11 p.m. Thursday from a Grantsville resident, saying the man was sitting on his porch.

Authorities said the man has long-time mental problems.

Thursday 5 a.m. - A driver reportedly went out control on High Street, Grantsville striking and damaging a wall in front of a house, with the Grantsville Police Department responding.

Thursday 7:43 a.m. - State Police responded to a minor two-vehicle collision at the Millstone intersection, no injuries.

Thursday 11:58 a.m. - Emergency services responded to the Cabot Station area following a report of a tractor-trailer turning over, no injuries.

Thursday 11:15 p.m. - State Police responded to a prowler complaint on Patriot Lane, Mt. Zion.

State Police also responded to a domestic dispute.
