Emma Deel, 91 of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Minnora, West Virginia, passed away June 17, 2011 at Akron City Hospital.
She was born November 10, 1919 at Minnora to the late Clark and Nora Hughes Stalnaker. She moved to Akron in 1941 following her marriage to William Deel. She was a homemaker and raised two sons. In 1973, Bill and Emma retired back to Minnora, Calhoun County, WV.
Emma was a member of the Red Hat Society and was very active in her community. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and serving pie to her guests when they stopped by. She was a member of the Minnora United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by by her husband, William; a daughter in law, Marie Deel; a grandson, David Deel; five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving Emma are her sons, Leroy and Leonard (Dodie); two sisters, Brunna Penman and Naomi Sims; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
The Deel family would like to express a special thank you to all the employees of Pebble Creek Nursing Facility in Akron, Ohio for all the love and care they gave Emma.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Rev. Tim Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
