Everett "Nick" Kerby of Barne's Run is continuing to improve at the West Virginia
Rehabilitation Center at Institute, according to his father, Warren "Bud" Kerby. Nick
was taken to the center for rehab a short time ago, recovering from serious injuries
received in an auto accident in Nashville, shortly after New Year's Day. His classmate
was killed in the accident.
The elder Kerby said the plan is to help the youth walk on his own. "The staff at the
center have already done wonders," he said.
"His speech is returning, but he has difficulty saying certain words, but he is
learning," Kerby said. He said his remote or long-term memory is good, but he
struggles with his short-term memory.
The Kerby family continues to express their appreciation to members of the
community for their support and prayers.
"This kid is going to make it," said his dad. He will be at the rehab for several months. |
