Maxine May Goodnight, age 69, of Macfarlan, West Virginia, died Saturday June 4, 2011 in Parkersburg WV.
She was born April 28, 1942 at Five Mile, Calhoun County WV, the daughter of the late Pearl and Stella Wilcox Jones.
Maxine had worked at Minnie Hamilton Health Care, Grantsville as a cook, prior to that she had been a cook at Pine View Nursing Home, Harrisville WV, and had worked at BF Goodrich, Rubber Crafters, Smithville WV, and Wirt Inflatable, Elizabeth WV. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Kenny Goodnight and wife Brenda of Macfarlan and Ronnie Goodnight and wife Kristen of Brohard, WV; two daughters, Dedera Goodnight of Macfarlan and Donna Rose and husband, Terry of Brohard; siblings, Lester Jones and wife Jean, Danny Jones and wife Tammie, Gracie Ayers and Hersel Jones all of Big Springs WV, Mack Jones and Ivan Jones and wife Norma of Brohard; grandchildren, Stephanie Moore (Joey), Alex Goodnight (Amber), Dominic Goodnight, Kendra Goodnight (Jason), Keshia Goodnight (Bobby), Dillon Goodnight, Gavin Goodnight, and Wade Goodnight; great grandchildren, Jakob Henderson, Ally Henderson, Kaleigh Moore, Joseph Moore, Hunter Goodnight, Wyatt Goodnight, Kierra Collins, Kolten Collins and Kayden Collins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronzel Goodnight; sisters, Betty Abel and Ada Billy; brother, James Jones.
Funeral services will be held at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, WV, Tuesday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodnight Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 and after 9:00 a.m. on the day of the service.
