Jake P. Hite, 69, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in the Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, after an extended illness.
He was born November 14, 1941, in Stouts Mills, a son of the late Arthur and Dette Sprinkler Hite. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles; and a sister, Ruth Ann.
Jake was a retired welder and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 625, Charleston. Also, he was a member of the Moriah Lodge No.38, A.F. & A.M., Spencer; a USAF veteran; and a former Roane County Girls Softball League coach.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelley James of Cottageville, Kelley Hite of Barboursville and Janna Hite of Spencer; a sister, Evelyn Hefner of Jane Lew; six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, will be in the Johns Cemetery, Stouts Mills. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
