Last Friday morning Genie Bailey and her mother Wanda Richards picked me up at 7:15 a.m. for trip to Spencer for supplies. We ate breakfast at the "Y" the food was good. Main Street doesn't open until 9:00. It is almost peaceful that time of day. Genie went to the jeweler and bought her husband a nice ring and got hers cleaned. I was at Barsh Optical across the street where I met Robin Gordon, she knew me but I didn't know who she was. She writes for the Chronicle also. I read her article on garden tips "Can You Dig It?" Lots of information I'll save. It was good to meet her she is a happy, friendly person. We stopped by Walmart and was home before noon.

Glen Siers, Wanda, Genie and I went to Duck for bacon, incredible corn to plant and Genie and Wanda got a few plants. Wanda drove up Douglas to Servia turning right on Route 4 and then left at the bridge to Nottingham's store. We like that country store. They have been in business since the 1920's. Coming home we took the scenic Route 4 to Ivydale and then Route sixteen. We stopped at Big Otter for hot dogs. We went on around to Glen's for a mess of lettuce and green onions. It was a good day.

Glen Siers left Friday morning for Ohio to visit with his son Jerry who he hasn't seen for a while.

While we were at the "Y" Blaine King, his cousins Herold and John came in for coffee. It was good to see them. Ernestine Keaton and her husband Kenny were there for breakfast and we talked with them for a while.

May 17 is the full flower moon. Flowers spring forth in abundance this month. Some Algonquin tribes knew this full moon as the corn planting moon or the milk moon. This moon is on my birthday and I will be 60 years old.

I'm feeling better since I went to Dr. Rick Magly last week and will have another appointment on the 16th.

Rosco McCune called me and said there were 54 at Walnut Church on Sunday.

I killed another bat in the house and I'm tired of writing about that.

I got a hanging basket of yellow petunia's at Chloe Hardware, they are beautiful. I'm so thankful that John, Barbara, Ken, and George are so close. I enjoy walking to the store and visiting with them.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
