Acting Governor Earl Ray Tomblin was the leading Democrat vote getter in Saturday's special election in Calhoun.
Tomblin received 218 votes, followed by Rick Thompson, 134; Natalie Tennant, 113; and John Perdue, 90. The county's state senator Jeff Kessler received 11 votes and Anne Moltis, 3.
Thirteen percent of the county's registered Democrats went to the polls.
Bill Maloney led the Republican ticket with 69 votes, followed by former Secretary of State Betty Ireland with 51. In third place was House of Delegate member Mitch Carmichael, 16. The other Republican candidates received single digits.
Three-percent of the county's Republican votes showed up at the polls.
