Mame Stump Lowe, 96, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Akron, Ohio and Spencer, W.Va., died May 8, 2011 at Alderman Oaks with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
She was born at Rocksdale, Calhoun County.
Prior to relocating to Florida eight years ago, she resided in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Glenville State College, W.Va., majored in education and taught in Spencer, W.Va. In Akron, she taught at Windemere Grade School, Adult Education, and at Akron University.
Her focus in life was educating children and adults. Mame was an avid bridge player and gardener. She was a past member of Akron Woman's City Club, Akron Rose Society, Ohio Retired Teaching Association, Order of Eastern Stars, and Glenville State College Alumni.
Her husband, Charles O. Lowe, passed away in 1987. She is the last survivor of eight children of Alvin and Maude Stump. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Laurence Clarke, of Sarasota, FL.
She is predeceased by her sisters Emma Jean Brumbaugh, Grace Cleavenger, Evelyn Thomas Kirby; and brothers Charles Stump, Leon Stump, Alvin Stump J., and Russell B. Stump.

A memorial service will be scheduled for late June or early July in Akron, which will be posted.
