Wilma Gene Sears Kerby, 72 of Grantsville, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Camden Clark Hospital after a short illness.
She was born March 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Hansford and Stella Sears.
She is survived by her sister, Wanda Lee Sears Carpenter; three
stepdaughters, Susan Kerby, Sarah (Stephen) Albaugh, and Sandra Kerby; one stepson, Samuel (Regina) Kerby.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hagan (Bill) Kerby; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Junior Cross; her niece Joyce Ann Carpenter and brother-in-law, Dallas A. Carpenter.
She had previously worked as a secretary at Calhoun High School, Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and for Cabot Corporation.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as pianist and secretary-treasurer for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Pastors Gene Johnson and C.W. McDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Collins Cemetery.
Friends may call at Stump Funeral Monday, May 9 from 6 to 9 p.m.
A dinner will be provided for family and friends, by the Bethlehem and Brooksville Baptist Churches at the Brooksville Baptist Family Life Center following the services. |
