Dozens of trees came down in county highways Saturday evening after a thunderstorm with high wind crossed the county.

The effects of the storm appeared mostly in southern Calhoun.

A tree downed electric lines on Sand Ridge, the Arnoldsburg VFD responded to the scene. US 33-119 was closed and power service to the Sand Ridge-Crummies Creek area was disrupted. The highway was reopened about 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Electric service disruption was reported in the Beech area.

Community members cleared numerous trees on secondary highways.

The county's three fire departments responded to numerous calls related to trees and lines down on Nicut, Walker, Sand Ridge, Barnes Run and other areas.

Roane county responders answered numerous trouble calls in southern Roane Saturday night.
