Calhoun's young fiddle player Jake Krack just performed with some music greats at
the Merlefest in Wakesboro, North Carolina, which drew 75,000 people to the four-day
event.
Jake went on stage for the Saturday opening, with the likes of Doc Watson and David
Holt. The Saturday event is the highlight of Merlefest, which is held in honor of Doc
Watson's brother, Merle.
Jake was the guest of "The Old Time Herald Magazine," which is a national
publication for old-time music.
The accomplished fiddler also played at the 42nd Chicago Folk Festival, playing two
concerts and putting on two workshops showcasing West Virginia fiddle styles.
Organizers of the Chicago fest said "Jake stole the show. We have not had a fiddler
like Jake Krack in years."
Jake just released his sixth CD "Hope I'll Join The Band."
