Glen Siers and I visited with Wanda Richards this past week and we always enjoy Wanda's stories. She showed us old pictures of the Will Ellison house on Walker. Will's son Matt Ellison was Buster, Hazel, and Wanda's mother, Dona's father. She showed pictures of the original house that was built by Sears & Robuck. We had a good visit.
I went to the Big Otter Nursing Home Monday and visited with Bob Mollohan. Bob's been through a lot. He had a tumor on his colon and a problem with his prostate. He looks good just like he always looked but he is weak and it will take time to get over this. It was good to see his smile. There was a little dog there at the home and as I was leaving he was right behind me and it was a bit startling. Small dogs, I have heard are good for patients.
April 17th is the full pink moon which heralds the appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox-one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the sprouting grass moon, and the fish moon. The new moon is on the 3rd.
I've gotten my hummingbird feeders out and ready. The little fellas fly so far to get here and right now they should be coming in. They were in northern Virginia two weeks ago. I can't wait to see them.
It's been so windy, like mother natures broom. April is like March used to be. I love the thunder storms and lightning.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
