The Calhoun County Committee on Aging In-Home Services recently hosted eight hours of mandatory training for the agency's thirty-one Personal Care Providers.
The program was directed by CCCOA's Angie Yoak, RN and Opal Harris. The topics in discussion during the training session included, Abuse, Neglect, Fraud, Exploitation, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens, Alzheimer Disease Behavioral Issues, First Aid, Emergency Preparedness, HIPPA Regulations, Confidentiality, and Family Care Giving.
Tracy Snodgrass, BSW/LSW from Minnie Hamilton Health System, attended as a guest speaker. Lunch was provided by CCCOA's kitchen staff, Ellen Shock and Anetia Wilson. Executive Director Rick Poling addressed the group and thanked them for being the "caring hands" of the organization and for giving up their usual Saturday activities to learn more about their profession.
