Ruby Naomi Grogan, 87, of Washington, W.Va., passed away on March 25, 2011, at the Willows Center in Parkersburg.
She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Cary and Lotie Whipkey McCartney.
She was a Christian by faith and retired from the Wood County Board of Education after many years of service. Ruby enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her four children, Gordon Grogan of Washington, James Grogan and his wife, Ramona, of Teays Valley, Darlene Kiger and her husband, Joe, of Washington, and Peggy Jenkins of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine siblings; and her son-in-law, Bill Jenkins.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg, with Ruby's nephew, Pastor Wayne Dunlap officiating.
