The Grantsville Police Department hosted the first Grantsville Neighborhood Watch Meeting last Friday.
"We are pleased to announce the success and implementation of the Neighborhood Watch Program for Grantsville area," said Grantsville police chief, Jeff Starcher.
Approximately 20 community minded citizens attended the meeting. Issues discussed consisted of home security, office safety, and vehicle safety and security. Participants were also educated in how to properly observe and report incidents and suspicious vehicles and individuals to the Grantsville Police Department.
The next quarterly meeting of the Grantsville Neighborhood Watch Program will be held June 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the little courtroom of the Calhoun County Court House.
"There has been a striving effort to implement this program for a quite a while. Now, thanks to these fine community minded citizens, our Neighborhood Watch Program is a success," said Starcher.
Grantsville citizens who have not registered for the Neighborhood Watch Program that would like to participate in the program may register by calling Chief Starcher at (304)354-6400 or by sending a request to PO Box 146 Grantsville, WV 26147.
