I spent a week with Heather and her family over in Nettie. Blaine King and Jake Settles drove me to Big Otter to meet with Ben at Go Mart last Friday around noon. That's when Ben is coming back from delivering produce to the Charleston-Hurricane area. I was able to spend a lot of time with Ruby and Lea that week.
Ben got up sick Saturday morning and was in bed most of the
day. Heather was sick the next day and she spent the day in bed. I kept the dishes done and cooked. The girls helped me out and would pick up things off the floor for me. I have trouble bending over. It hurts my head and I try and stay away from the headaches. Hope to feel better soon.
Heather and Ben are doing a great job with their lives. Heather is going to nursing school in Beckley and Ben works for Quality Produce out of Summersville. On heathers day off she drove me to Bridgeport where I got a new upper plate. The girls were with us and
the young lady behind the desk played Toy Story 3 on a flat screen TV that was mounted on the wall. We enjoyed the movie. By 2:00 p.m. I had teeth and we went to Applebee's. How great it is to have teeth. It's been over six months. I'm thankful.
Early last Friday morning Ben and I are back on the road in
route to Big Otter where Blaine and Jake was to pick me up around 10:15. It was good to be home. We had coffee and Jake brought me farm fresh eggs. I love them. I also enjoy riding an eighteen wheeler every once in a while.
Glen Siers came by my house every evening and fed Bear. Bear is a good dog and everyone likes him. Blaine mentioned that he was a good dog to stay home that long without me here. I'm am so thankful for the good neighbors that I have here.
Rosco McCune called and said 50 people attended Walnut Church Sunday
morning. There was 45 at services Thursday evening.
Susie Nelson called from Wood County with concerns about Richard Nelson who has cancer in one lung and in the rib area, he needs support from the community through this hard time. Richard has changed his ways and would appreciate it
if Jeff (Buckwheat) Nelson would visit with him.
Last Sunday morning while I was at Heather's it starting snowing big wet
flakes
and continued on to a fine snow and accumulated over 4 inches that day. It was
cold. Ben was putting wood in the furnace and complaining about how sick he
was of
winter. I'm thankful we're feeling Spring here these last few days.
Setting
the time forward
is helpful that Spring is finally coming and is daylight later in the day,
it's a good thing. I heard Spring Peepers the other day,
The Ides of March are here on the 15th, St. Patrick's day on the 17th and March
19
presents the Full Worm Moon when the ground begins to soften and earthworm
casts
reappear, inviting the return of robins and is time to tap maple trees.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
