| A 74-year-old Henry's Fork man received what was reported to be critical burns Wednesday afternoon.
Family members said Fred Whytsell, Jr. was attempting to burn some trash when the fire expanded, after which he attempted to put the fire out.
Whytsell received severe burns on the lower part of his body and burns to his hands.
A neighbor said Whytsell, who has some debilitating health problems, "burned one of his shoes off his foot."
The small fire was reportedly out when the Arnoldsburg VFD arrived.
Whytsell was life-flighted from Arnoldsburg to a medical center. |
