Led by dead-eye outside shooting by Kim Stephens
the Glenville State College, Lady Pioneers jumped out to an early advantage up 16-2 in the first five minutes of play.
Five Lady Pioneers ended the game in double-figures,
with Autumn Davis high-scorer with 19, followed by
Mishae Miles with 17.
The Battlers hit on only 4 of 26 attempts the first
half.
Scoring in double-figures in addition to Davis and
Miles were Kim Stephens with 14, Tenisha Wilson
had 12, and LaToya Hambrick 10.
Miranda Reed hurls a down-court pass to a
teammate. She ended the game with six assists.
Miranda Reed had 6 assists, while Danielle Woodmore
clocked 5.
The Lady Pioneers enter WVIAC quarterfinal play
today against sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown at
3 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center. GSC's
women are ranked third behind Charleston and West
Liberty going into the tournament.
Overall for the season the Lady Pioneers racked up
some impressive statistics. They led the conference
in steals, averaging 16 per game. In addition, they
topped the charts in scoring, averaging 96.9 points per
game; and offensive rebounding, averaging 52.2.
The GSC women also led in 3-point shots made, averaging
11.45 per game.
