The Creston Community building auction will be Saturday, March 5, starting at 6 P. M. at the Creston Community
Building, storms, floods and weather permitting.
The Creston area has had rain, thunder & lightening and a minimal amount of flooding. The Easter flowers are growing and chickweed is already blooming.
Charles Russell is now recovering at home after spending five days in the burn unit at the West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh where he had been taken by helicopter. Nurse Sally Middleton who is Vandale Meadows' granddaughter has been giving him nursing care at home. Alvie Ferrell spent a few days with Charles and Cap'n Spock was among those calling on him. Charles also ended with a very friendly 'coon dog, complete with tracking collar, that had obviously gotten separated from his master.
Euell Russell was consulting his eye doctor and he reported that he now had cataracts that needed to be removed.
Russell Schoolcraft of Clover was badly burned on a Chesapeake Energy location in Pennsylvania and is being treated for burns in Pittsburgh. According to the news report Chesapeake leads the pack in violations in the Marcellus play in that state with 149 as well as 33 enforcements. Schoolcraft and two other men, also badly burned were removing snow from the location as part of the "operate green initiative" that requires that all water (rain & snow) be removed from the plastic that is spread on the location.
Carl & Donna Sue Ferrell were among the local folks suffering from some sort of unpleasant virus that, among other things, did a number on the digestive tract.
The activities continue down at the Mouth of the Elk with the legislature still in session. The anti-tobacco people are proposing yet another tax and it seems that, for the most part, these same folks are promoting the use of illegal drugs, just like the teamsters, George Soros, etc. Apparently some of those folks joined forces to support the demonstrations against fiscal responsibility in Wisconsin. Seems the organizers of that demonstration included some of the same folks that had earlier held forth in Cairo Egypt, including Code Pink, ACORN (the Big Eared One's old outfit), Google, Boss Trumpka, moveon.org. etc.
Some wondered why our fearless leader and former community organizer didn't quickly condemn the dictator in Libya after he started killing his own people in a big way and then it was noted that he was a friend of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the spiritual advisor for over 20 years to Barry and also Jeremiah's close friend Louis Farahkan, leader of the Nation of Islam, the latter of whom has received $millions from the Libyan strongman.
It is not known whether or not the big boys will get their way and inflict forced pooling (private condemnation) for shallow wells on West Virginia landowners. It was learned that forced pooling was slipped into another bill in Ohio (completely on the sly) and now Cabot is offering to lease land in that state for $1/acre -- just like it was done back in 1900.
Various of the vested interests have been screaming because of the budget cuts proposed by the U. S. House of Representatives. Gloom & doom have been "predicted" over proposed slashing of the EPA budget but one of their new proposals should make it clear why they have very likely outlived their usefulness and need to be brought back to reality. The wizards in that outfit have noted that milk "contains oil" which is better known locally as butterfat, the stuff that makes rich cream, fine ice cream and tasty butter but the EPA says it would be harmful if spilled milk would get into the waters and streams of the nation and so dairymen must install secondary containment to make sure there is no "spilled milk". These regulations would be the same as used in chemical plants where really dangerous compounds are contained so they do not run into drains, sewers, etc.
As a result of the turmoil in the Arab world the world price of oil has hit the $100 range and local crude is now $92/bbl. The ban on oil drilling in the gulf, off the east & west coasts continues as does the prohibition of drilling the big oilfield in Alaska. Meantimes the government of Brazil, thanks to a big 'loan' of a few billion from the American taxpayers is developing a big deep oilfield in the Atlantic Ocean and even though we are financing the drilling all the new oil is to go to China. The biggest private owner of the Brazilian government company is Barry's sugar daddy, George Soros who also has moveon.org. Gasoline is now in the $3.40/gallon range with the expectations of going on to $4 or $5 rather soon.
Nancy Engelke was visiting with W. Harrison Schenerlein IV and helped his mother while Scheny attended a wrestling match.
Mary (Jenny) Belt is now recuperating at home after a stay at the Camden Clark Hospital.
Gay Park reported that all her family were calling at her residence Saturday and that it was an uplifting event.
Some local folks have been doing some research on Jim deVore, a former resident of Ann's Run who was also a W. Va. State Senator. If anyone knows when and where he died they should contact Christina Miller.
