Gasoline prices, according to forecasts following the Middle East problems, could go over $4 a gallon this summer.
In parts of West Virginia this week, the price has jumped to $3.50 a gallon.
With news of the unrest in Libya worsened, the price is shooting upward.
Even though Libya halted all oil production, it would barely register on the world oil supply.
That doesn't matter with the market.
Clark Hodges with Hodges Capital told MetroNews,
"Oil and the stock market don't like uncertainty. We know gas prices are going up, they go up in the summer anyway, but now with this little excuse they're going to go up even faster."
Parkersburg and Huntington saw gas prices hovering near $3.50.
