The Lady Pioneers were knocked out of their #1 conference
ranking in an upset Wednesday evening at West Virginia State.
State led for most of the game, shooting 46-percent from the
floor. Glenville, by contrast, failed to hit 70-percent of their
2-point attempts, many of them from inside 10-feet. From 3-point
range they managed to connect just over 20-percent of the time.
State's overall height advantage and spread out offensive attack
put the Lady Pioneers game off-balance. Glenville struggled to
keep in the game but never really found their composure.
Although the Lady Pioneers closed out the half down 2-points,
44-42, West Virginia State dominated the first half. State spread
out its offense opening up the inside, then dominated rebounding
at both ends of the court.
Unlike the first half scoring blitz against West Liberty last
Saturday, as the clock neared the 15-minute mark the NCAA
Division II highest scoring team only showed 5 points on the
scoreboard.

Tenisha Wilson and Mishae Miles already hit double-figures
by the half scoring 15 and 10 respectively.
Miles and Wilson were the only Lady Pioneers in double
figure scoring. Miles chalked up another double-double
performance hitting for 20-points and 10 rebounds. Wilson
finished with 16.
The Lady Pioneers close out the regular season at home
against Ohio Valley University Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
