Irene Mildred Husk, 91, of Grantsville, West Virginia (Minnie Hamilton Health System Long-Term Care) was received into the loving hands of her Lord, February 19, 2011. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband Grant Husk and many family and friends who were eagerly awaiting her arrival.
She was born January 10, 1920 in Cremo WV, a daughter of the late Anthony Louvell and Rosa Anna Chedester Edgell.
She is survived by daughter, Estel Mae (James) Propst Tedrick; granddaughters, Patricia (Harold) Watson of Port Washington OH, Pamela (Randy) Robinson of Palestine WV; step grandson, Jamie (Jan) Tedrick of Kimbolton OH; step granddaughter, Angela (Rick) Stillion of Coshocton OH; great grandchildren, Robert (Christina) Watson of New Philadelphia OH, Caleb Robinson of Palestine; step great grandchildren, John and Cy Tedrick, Jared and Cody Stillion; great-great grandchildren, Brionna, Austin and Alexis Watson, and Ashton Grindle; one sister, Betty (Dale) Smith of Hur WV; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosa Lue; five brothers, Lora Veon, Jennings E., Junior, Virgil, and Donald L. Edgell; three sisters, Blondina Stutler, Mona Sampson, and Emodee Starcher.
She was married August 18, 1938 to the love of her life, Grant Husk at Hur, West Virginia. She was the ultimate homemaker, willing to drop whatever she was doing to make her family and guests feel welcome and special. She enjoyed gardening, fishing from the riverbank and hunting the hills of Calhoun County for wild game. Irene could create a feast with any ingredients. No one ever left her home hungry unless it was by choice.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 22 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Rev. William Delmas Stutler will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the services Tuesday.
