Letherbark house was nearly on the ground when firemen arrived
A Letherbark split-level house burned to the ground Monday evening, with the new renters of the property not present when the fire started.
Spencer resident David Holcomb, owner of the house, said the property was just rented by Mike Hall, who was in the process of moving in.
The house was fully engulfed when the Arnoldsburg and Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Departments arrived, the fire was reported to 911 about 7:45 p.m.
The dwelling was located just off US 33/119 near the Calhoun-Roane line.
