Daniel Harold Little, Sr. 68 of Elizabeth, West Virginia, was called home on February 11, 2011, after complications from a prolonged illness.
He was born June 29, 1942 in Calhoun County, to the late Audie and Bertie Little.
He worked at Mountain State Steel for 18 years as a
maintenance-mechanist and Union President. He owned and operated Little's Well Service for 30 years, drilling over 500 water wells in the Mid-Ohio Valley area. He enjoyed hunting, marksmanship, reloading,ATVs, farming and family.
He was a devoted Trustee-Leader and long standing member of Snyder Chapel Church of Annamoriah. A kid at heart and renowned jokester he provided hours of mutual entertainment for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosie (Lynch) Little; 2 sons, Danny (Jake) and Pam Little of Newark WV, and John and Beulah Little of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Danielle (Crumby) Little, Jonathan (King Fish) Little, Erica (Clyde) McCumbers, Crystal (Satchel Butt) Eddie (Deadwood) Cogar;
4 great grandchildren, Madison (Maggie) and Madelynn (Porky) Cogar, Jocelyn (Blondie) and Jaelyn (Eat a Biscuit) McCumbers; 1 sister, Joy Byrne of Ohio; 3 brothers, Charles (Judy) Little, Jack (Evonne) Little, and David (Barb) Little, all of Ohio.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, 1 sister, Marge Sofranko; and 3 brothers, James, Jerry and infant Little.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with Pastor Farley Blankenship officiating. Interment will be at Fouty Cemetery of Newark WV.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
