| Iva Pearl West, 97, of Mt. Zion, formerly of Spencer, died Thursday,
February 8, 2001 in
Mile Tree Center in Spencer. Mrs. West, widow of Willie West, made
her home with her
daughter Mary Umstead of Mt. Zion for several years.
She was born October 11, 1903, at Walton, WV, a daughter of the late
John and Roxie Walker
Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Memorial United
Methodist Church.
Mrs. West is survived by two daughters, Helen Young of Ravenswood, WV
and Mary Umstead
of Grantsville, WV, a brother Romie "Dick" Clarence Jones of
Braunfels, TX, four grandchildren,
one great great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie S. West;
a brother, John Gay
Jones; two sisters, Beaulah Willman and Macil Samples.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at the John H.
Taylor Funeral Home,
Spencer, WV. Rev. Rick Swearengin and Rev. Stanley Skeens will
officiate. Burial will be in the
Rocky Branch Cemetery, Walton, WV. Visitation from 2-8 p.m. Sunday. |
