Braxton County law enforcement has conducted a major round-up of drug offenders.
"Today [Thursday] we're focusing the efforts on a two year process of a drug roundup," said Trooper Christopher Speece of the State Police.
The roundup included almost 50 people from the Braxton County area, who were wanted on a variety of charges.
"Charges range from selling marijuana, selling pills, conspiracy to sell marijuana, and things of that nature," says Trooper Logan Mohr.
Police said trying to find the suspects was not an easy task, and officers were brought in from various state police detachments, the Braxton County Sheriff's Department, and Burnsville Police Department, to help out.
"We started with an initial briefing about where everybody was, what the teams were, and after that we went out and rounded up the people that we were looking for," said Trooper Mohr."
After being arrested the suspects are brought to the State Police headquarters, and the suspects then taken to the local magistrate court.
More arrests are expected, police said.
"Todays goal is to help clean the community up," said Trooper Mohr.
