Welcome back to Beason. We are always happy to have visitors to our little place in the world.
A few items to keep in mind: CCES PTO Public Meeting will be held on February 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the CCES Computer Lab, CJ's Pizza Cards are on sale now from any CCES student and the CCES Spring Fling is tentatively set for May 14th at Myles Stadium.
It appears we are not going to get a snow blast with this new storm that the meteorologists have been talking about for a week or so. I really don't mind the snow too much. It's the ice I hate.
One could have the best car in the world, but, they are all the same when it comes to ice. You are at the mercy of Mother Nature. If you are traveling down our driveway, keep our motto in mind, "Hold on and hope for the best."
I've been trying to keep all the little tidbits my father-in-law told me about driving in ice and snow. So, that's been helpful. I know he's somewhere in Heaven just pacing and thinking, "where is she going to wreck the car this year?" or "how many more times is she going to slide through my fence?'.
I know he had to be thankful for spring to come every year just so he would have a working gate for at least 7 months. Gosh, I miss him.
I'm so ready for spring to come. I can't wait to plant my seeds and be rewarded with those big yellow sunflowers. Well, if I remember to keep the gate closed. All's it takes is one time I don't see a cow in sight and suddenly there are 300 of them in my yard when I get home. Honestly, I think they are psychic.
They have some sort of sick sense that knows when I leave and that I didn't shut the gate. As much as I would like to believe it, cows are not nearly as stupid as they look.
Although they never pay attention to me when I say, "run for your life" at butchering time. It looks like if you're the last cow standing in a lot, something is wrong with that picture. I think we need to work on that concept some more.
Of course, everyone knows I am going to get on my soapbox about something. So, I am not going to let you down. We all make choices. Some of the time, they are the right ones. Some of the time, they are wrong. How do we correct the wrong decisions? Well, we can't go back and change what has already been done. We can, however, begin to put ourselves back on the right path with help and support. We don't need "marked" for the rest of our lives for our mistakes.
We need to be offered the opportunity to show the world we can come back and be better than ever. It's important to remember we are all human and we are all living on this earth together. So, since we have all this time in each other's company, perhaps, we need to focus on the future. OK, officially removing myself from the soapbox.
In closing, I leave you with this quote from one who had seen a lot of rights and wrongs. "Everything happens for a reason, people change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can come together". Marilyn Monroe.
