Genevieve M. Young Pursley, 89, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away January 18, 2011 at Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.
She was born May 2, 1921 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Ella B. Nichols Young. She was a retired seamstress from the former Kellwood Company, a lifelong member of the Boggs Fork Church, an avid reader, and had many other hobbies.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianna Sutter and her husband Robert of Croton Ohio and Patricia Pursley of Spencer; two daughters-in-law, Carol Pursley of Acworth, Georgia and Robin Pursley of Spencer; her grandchildren, Cheryl Eberhart of Seco, Kentucky, Gary Pursley of Florida, Janet Gillam and her husband Rick of Atlanta, Georgia, Nathan Pursley of Spencer, and Brian Ansel and his wife Kari of Sunbury, Ohio; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orland Ray Pursley on August 6, 1978; two sons, Edwin Pursley of Dayton, Ohio and Michael R. Pursley of Spencer; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Visiting will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery near Spencer. Because of the weather, the committal service will be conducted at the funeral home.
