Ulva Mae Paxton, 92, of Walton, West Virginia, died Monday, January 3, 2011.
She was born May 23, 1918, at Boyd, Jackson County, a daughter of the late Okey and Mirtle Hill Harper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Coy, Doy, and Foy; five sisters, Addie Cottrell, Thelma Cook, Freeda Barnette, Rosalie Harper, and Wanda Hersman; and one grandson, Robbie Fox.
She was employed by the Roane County Board of Education and retired from Kellwood Corporation. She was saved as a young girl at Mt. Moriah Church and attended Walton Union Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Reva Paxton of Walton; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bob Fox of Parkersburg; son, Leonard of Spencer; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Kittie of Vineland, NJ; son, Carl of Rome, GA; three granddaughters, Pam Paxton, Michelle Kincaid, Amanda and her husband, Justin Work; one grandson, Salvatore Milazzo and his wife, Scarlett; one great grandson, Justin Kincaid; three great granddaughters, Hannah Rose Paxton, Holly Paxton, and Clarissa Gowan; sister, Ruth Walker of Spencer, and sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Gerald Evans of Harmony.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 6, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Roy Russell and the Rev. Jerry Malona officiating. Burial will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
