CLOUDY SKIES WILL HIDE FULL LUNAR ECLIPSE - Historic Celestial Event

(12/21/2010)
There are not many days like today.

There was one day like this Tuesday in the past 2,000 years.

Tuesday morning astronomers say there will be a total eclipse of the moon and on the same day, the winter solstice arrives.

Unfortunately, it is not likely the eclipse can be seen in this region because of cloudy skies.

The last time these two celestial events happened was in 1638.

The next time it will happen is on Dec. 21 in 2094.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the earth blocks the sun's rays from the face of the moon. The moon is then fully in the shadow cast in space by the earth.
