Roane County firemen have had a series of fires during the frigid winter weather.
The Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Department had a third fire within several days Thursday night, destroying a dwelling in the Alvord section of Spencer.
Temperatures hovered about ten degrees.
Other county fire departments responded to assist.
Last week, firemen responded to a mobile home fire on Charleston Rd. after the owner was attempting to thaw pipes with a propane torch.
The family escaped unharmed, but lost everything.
During the early morning hours last week, they responded to a fire on Tuckers Run, where a remodeled log house built in the 1800s burned to the ground.
