The West Virginia DNR says it's expecting hunters to kill about the same number of bucks during the upcoming gun season as they did last year, with a slight increase.
DNR's Curtis Taylor says the antlerless harvest could be a little higher than last year, when hunters took 54,414 antlerless deer.
DNR is discounting the effect of the harsh weather last winter.
The two-week gun season for bucks opens Nov. 22 and runs through Dec. 4.
