The CHS Volleyball team qualified for the 2010 Class A WV State Volleyball Tournament by defeating Pendleton County 25-15 25-15, 25-9 on Saturday morning, November 6 at Doddridge County High School.
Ashley Houchin led the team in service points with 18 points, 7 aces; followed by Rochelle Gerwig 11 points, 2 aces; Stephanie Hall 7 points, 2 aces; Karissa Reip 6 points, 1 ace; Amber Wilford 4 points, 1 ace and Jordan Mace 4 points.
Setting: Houchin 80/81, 26 assists.
Hitting: Wilford 32/37, 14 kills;
Gerwig 20/22, 4 kills; Reip 6/7, 5 kills; Mace 10/12, 1 kill; Samantha Church 2/3, 2 kills.
Blocks: Houchin 2, Gerwig 1, Mace 1, Wilford 1.

The victory over Pendleton also advanced Calhoun to the Regional Championship Game where they defeated East Hardy 25-23, 25-16, 26-24 to capture the Region II Championship.
