Nineteen-year-old Calhoun resident Joshua Boswell was reported to be in fair condition today in Charleston Area Medical Center after being shot in the head early Thursday morning by a masked person.
State Police are interviewing suspects who could have pulled the trigger.
Boswell told State Police he was shot up-close by a hooded figure after he answered the door about 1:45 a.m. He was shot by a small caliber handgun.
The incident happened at a residence where Boswell was reportedly renting an apartment along Rt. 16 between Orma and Minnora, five miles south of Arnoldsburg.
Sgt. O. S. Starsick of the Grantsville Detachment said Boswell was alert and conscious at the scene, with a bullet lodged inside his head.
Sgt. Starsick said he gave troopers some information before he was transported to a Charleston hospital, and that State Police had already ruled out one suspect.
Betty Boswell, the victim's grandmother, says because of the way the shooting happened, the shooter was a person who knew Joshua.
