James Blake Allen, 91, of Mason, West Virginia, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at his home.
He was born September 15, 1919, at Orma, Calhoun County, a son of the late
William A. and
Emma Bailey Allen.
In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by
six sisters,
Ressie King, Ethel Waldeck, Chloe Cover, Ann McKenzie, Juanita Daggett,
and Nell Holt; one
brother, Rex Allen; half-brother, Lloyd Allen; and grandson, Isaac Allen.
He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Bryant Allen, whom he married May 27,
1950; two sons,
Shirl Leek of Massillon, OH, and Donald R. Allen of Columbus, OH; one
granddaughter, Beth
Allen of Seattle, WA; a half brother, Roger Allen of Grantsville.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the John
H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, with Bill Walton officiating. Burial will be in the
Orma Cemetery, Orma WV. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
