The Calhoun County High School Lady Red Devils defeated Gilmer County in five sets to claim the 2010 Region II, Section 1 - Sectional Championship at Doddridge County High School on Wednesday evening.
Calhoun defeated Gilmer 19-25, 25-14, 25-13, 19-25, 15-12.
Amber Wilford 16 points, 7 aces and Rochelle Gerwig 16 points, 3 aces led the team in service points; followed by Ashley Houchin 10 points, 1 ace; Jordan Mace 6 points, 1 ace; Karissa Reip 6 points, and Stephanie Hall 2 points.
Setting:
Houchin 152/153, 45 assists. Hitting: Wilford 61/64, 25 kills; Gerwig 29/32, 9 kills; Reip 20/23, 6 kills;
