Leon F. Sampson, 68 of Grantsville, WV, died Monday, April 22nd. at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.
Born January 1, 1934 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Ferrell and Josie Kerby Sampson. He was a former employee of Sav-A-Tool Company of Grantsville for 27 years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mona Edgell Sampson and one daughter, Peggy Dye and her husband, Terry of Big Springs, WV; five sisters, Ulinee Falb, Ettalean Kerby of Mt. Zion, Rose Husk, Katheryn Baker and Jean Plant all of Grantsville; two granddaughters, Amanda Richards and her husband Charlie of Big Springs and Tara Dye also of Big Springs; four great grandchildren, Kyler and Mason Propst, Brogan and Alexa Richards; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sampson was preceded in death by a brother, George Sampson and two sisters, Bernice Sampson and Roxie Chapman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Reverends Mike Worf and Roger Carter will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Grantsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. |
