Over 400 free prom dresses, many of them brand new, were distributed
yesterday to young women at Clay County High School, a New York to West
Virginia project. Students at the expensive Hewitt School initiated
"Operation Prom Dress."
Slightly over 600 kids attend Clay County High School, and some of them
might be pressed to afford a prom dress, say the organizers.
Clay County principal Cindy Willis said some kids were a little skeptical
about the project, but "I think rather than the material thing, the most
important thing is the friendship and the cultural exchange." |
