John L. Jones, 67, of Elyria, Ohio, went to eternal rest on Friday, October 22, 2010 at his home after a long illness.
He was born in San Francisco, California on August 5, 1943. He was raised by his grandparents, John and Cornelia Jones, in Glenville, West Virginia. He resided in Elyria the last 47 years.
Jack worked in the oil field in West Virginia. He was a former Fruehauf worker and was employed 32 years at the Ford Plant in Lorain and Avon Lake. He retired from Ohio Truck in January, 2000. He was a member of UAW Local 2000 and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed helping others and loved his family and beagle dogs.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 43 years Donna (nee Cox); daughter, Lora L. Fischer of Elyria; son, Dr. John G. Jones (wife Pamela) of Dayton; granddaughter, Leslie Renee Lorenzi of VirÂginia Beach, Virginia; greatÂgranddaughter, Lora CaldÂwell; sister, Patricia D'AnselÂmi of Clarksburg, West VirÂginia; several broÂthers- in-law and sisÂters- in-law, Ronald and Nancy Smith of Good Hope, West Virginia, Jim and Mary Grogg of Parkersburg, West Virginia, David and Elaine Cox of North Ridgeville, Judith L. Butcher of Weston, West VirÂginia, Anne M. Cox of CarÂlisle, Pennsylvania; He also has many cousins, nieces and nephews, and good friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John O. and Mary (nee Fellar) Jones; grandparents, John and CorÂnelia Jones; grandson, JonÂathan Lorenzi.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 29 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Pastor Chuck Leininger, Elyria BapÂtist Church, will officiate. Cremation will be by Busch Funeral and Crematory SerÂvices. Friends may call at the funeral home 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 28.
