When police arrived they found Wilfong laying in the parking lot dead.
Smith was taken into custody without a problem and has been charged with first degree murder. He's being held in the Central Regional Jail.

workers at the West Virginia Housing Development Fund office in Charleston to evacuate with the gunman allegedly making threats to come to the office.
Deputies said Wilfong was a maintenance man at the apartment complex and lived there.
VOODOO FEAR PROMPTS SHOOTING - A Nitro man has been arrested after firing several shots at his neighbor's home, telling police that he was defending himself against his neighbors, who he said was practicing witchcraft and voodoo.
Police said Anthony Harrah awoke Sunday evening to the sound of gunshots being fired into his home.
Police spotted bullet holes in the homes windows and walls, and later discovered shots aimed at a couch where a Harrah had been sleeping.
Police went to the home next door, occupied by 57-year-old Joel Marshall Turley, and found several spent .22-caliber casings on the ground at the back door, according to a complaint.
Turley, according to the complaint, told officers that someone had been shooting at his home from the woods, but officers found no evidence.
Turley then said his neighbors had been "doing witchcraft and voodoo," and that he had been shooting in self-defense, according to the complaint. Sources at the scene reported that Harrah was mentally unstable.
When police tried to take Turley into custody he resisted, and officers used a stun gun to subdue him.
Law enforcement officers said they had no reason to believe that Harrah had been practicing witchcraft or doing anything else unusual, after confirming Tuesday Turley had psychological issues.
Turley was charged with wanton endangerment and obstruction. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
