CHARLESTON MAN SHOT IN CHEST - Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers said a woman called in shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday and said that her husband had been shot in the chest.

The victim told medics he did not know who shot him, according to the dispatcher. Charleston police were setting up a perimeter to locate the shooter.

The victim was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center.

MAN SHOOTS METER READER - A South Charleston man is facing charges after he fired a shot at a vehicle owned by West Virginia American Water. Richard Paul Painter, 58, of South Charleston, began arguing with the employee after he was reading the meter at his home.

After the brief argument, the reader moved on to read other meters on the street.

When the water company employee drove back past Painter's house, police say Painter allegedly fired a shot gun at his vehicle. The water company employee left the area and called 911.

When police arrived they say Painter refused to put the gun down, but finally complied.

WHEELING DRUG-RELATED SHOOTING - Wheeling Police have asrrested a man they say is the suspect in a Wheeling Island shooting Saturday.

Linnie "Pookie" Hilliard , 30, of Cleveland, was arrested by the Wheeling, Martins Ferry and Bridgeport Police Departments.

Police said Julius Thompson was shot in the incident.

Police said he was shot in the upper right thigh and was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

PARKERSBURG HOLDUP - Two Parkersburg men have been arrested for their involvement in allegedly robbing a 7-11 store at gunpoint Sunday.

Police said said Matthew Scott Moore and Nathan Manley have been charged with first degree robbery.

Both Moore and Manley were arrested at the EconoLodge.
