Manda C. Nelson, 79 of Chloe, West Virginia, died Thursday at her home following a long
illness.
Born in Clay County she was a daughter of the late John and Cora Coen Martin. She was a
homemaker and member of the Mud Fork Union Church and the Mud Fork Union Church
Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving are four sons, Harley, Donald, Allen and Richard all of Chloe; three daughters, Betty
L. Sisson of Chloe, Suzi CarMichael of Ravenswood, WV, and Flista Hope Hanshaw of West
Salem, Ohio; grandchildren are John and Tim Moore, Misty, A.J., Melissa and Sharon Nelson,
Jason Jarvis, Steven and Carla Sisson, Rusty Ann Woody, Tawny, Rick and Kevin Hanshaw,
great grandchildren are, Cody, Jacob, Dennis, Alex, Tabitha, Crystal, Dylon, Autumn and
Alyssa; one sister, Jaggie Adams of Marshalville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Maynard (Bill) Nelson; two brothers,
Willis and Homor Martin; three sisters, Grace (Sue) Payne, Audrey Davis and Inez (Tine) Legg
and a son, Harlen E. Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mud Fork Union Church near Chloe.
Reverends Okey Cottrell and John Meadows will officiate. Interment will be in the Coen
Cemetery at Nebo, WV.
